True Christianity is a fight. Our modern culture tells us the greatest virtue is to be nice, and you can't have enemies because that's mean and no one is wrong about anything because "who are you to judge, stop being so mean." But if you don't think Christianity is a fight, the enemy has you right where he wants you.
Good morning, welcome to the Morning Motivation. Happy Monday brought to you by Public Square and Patriot Gold Group. Jesse Kelly, a fellow host on The First TV where I have a show as well, wrote this on his Twitter the other day. He's got a new book coming out called The Anti-Communist Manifesto. Every time I'm on his show, we talk about something going on in the news and then he says, Slater, what do we do about it? And I'm like, man, that's not my bag. I don't know. My focus, and we all have our different strengths, my focus is on what's broken, what's the root of the brokenness, and how we got here.

And then I like to focus on our own failings and sins that contribute to what's going on and then how we individually must change and what we have control over in our individual lives. That's my focus. I don't know what to do about these things politically. Jesse's strength is to answer the question, what do we do about this politically? So this is what he wrote. He said, the right fails to fight back correctly because it fails to get the right mindset and it fails to get the right mindset because it fails on language I see a lot of soft on crime da talk when I see them talk about George Soros da s Okay, let's say I told you we're gonna go on a hike But then we only go 50 yards and it's all downhill. No big deal, right?

You don't even have to drink water get the right shoes for that But then we get out there and instead it's a 10-mile forced march through rolling hills. You'd be toast, wouldn't you? Because I used the wrong words and I put you in the wrong mindset. And you were therefore unprepared for what was to come. The right does this all the time, with virtually every issue. George Soros' DAs are not soft on crime. They're tip-of-the-spear communist warriors who are out there to turn violent criminals loose and arrest their political opponents. They are there to purposely cause more murder, rape, and mayhem, because a society in chaos is a society more apt to accept communist rule.

They are there to track down and arrest anyone from Donald Trump to Daniel Penny, anyone who might stand in the way of these goals. They're not flowery progressives who are soft on crime because they just have a different approach to law enforcement. When you talk like that, it puts the right in the wrong mindset. We do this with every issue, everyone, and the communists never do this. They'll take an issue and point to you and say, look at this Nazi who wants to murder children. That gets their people in the right mindset. The right will watch Joe Biden open the border on purpose and call what he's doing a blunder. Use the right language. Get our people in the right mindset. Mindset matters. Our modern culture has decided that the highest virtue is to be nice and part of that is convincing people that there are no enemies. There's nothing to fight against just mere minor disagreements at worst.

Because if you have an enemy, that means you have to fight, and fighting is mean, and I'm nice, and I don't want to step on anyone's toes, and I don't want to tell anyone they're wrong because who am I to say? That's our culture today, and we wonder why here we are. Jesse's tweet there reminded me of a sermon from the great J.C. Ryle called The Fight. fight and no it's not about fighting the Democrats but it's about a spiritual mindset against the enemy and that's what we're going to talk about this week the enemy but we'll never fight against the enemy properly we'll certainly never win because we don't have the right mindset JC Ryle he wrote this in the mid 1800s he said young men and maidens old men and little children high and low rich and poor learned and unlearned all feel a deep interest in wars, battles, and fighting." And then he goes off and he lists off all these battles, battles that I've never heard of.

The story of Waterloo, I've heard of that one, or Inkerman, or Balaclava, or Lucknow. We should think that heart cold and stupid, which not moved and thrilled by the events of Sedan and Strasbourg and Metz and Paris. My heart is not moved by these battles because I've never heard of them. It's how historically ignorant I am. That's sad. But anyway, his point is everyone loves to hear about battles. I think our minds have no framework for a battle or fighting because war is something that's way over there and now it's fought with drones.

It's like it can't be more distant. And you saw this in the town hall with Trump the other day Caitlin what I came to Collins the moderate three times she asked Donald Trump Who do you want to win in Ukraine? Do you want Ukraine to win? Do you want Ukraine to win do you want yours like such a such a? childish little girls approach to war Like oh, who do you want to win? Do you want the good guys to win don't you want it to end like a fairy tale with the good guys winning. It's like, oh, you have no clue, lady.
0:05:15
You are totally clueless. And because we're all clueless, we coast. And we coast in every area of life because this is what it means to be nice. You just coast. And then the enemy wins. Oh, there Slater goes talking about the enemy. How rude. More from J.C. Ryle here. It is of far greater importance than any war that's ever been waged by man.
0:05:40
And yet it is as real and true as any war the world has ever seen. It has its hand-to-hand conflicts and its wounds. It has his watchings and fatigues. It has its sieges and assaults. It has its victories and defeats. Above all, it has consequences which are awful, tremendous, and eternal. This is why Paul said to Timothy, fight the good fight of faith. This week we're going to talk about the fight. Because if you are an armchair Christian, sitting back and relaxing on the cruise ship, I'll tell you that's right where the enemy wants you.
0:06:20
Not in the fight. Because true Christianity is a fight. So who do you want to go punch? We're going to talk about where this fight is and against whom this fight is and against what this fight is tomorrow. And a friendly reminder, this entire transcript of every podcast we do is available on MikeSlater.Locals.com. Have a great day.
