Trump is on a mission to save as many lives as possible around the world. He made a comment this morning, probably meant as a bit of a joke, but I'll take any chance to declare that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.
Welcome to Politics by Faith. Thank you for being here. We got a short one today. We're going to keep it short to the point. We have talked a lot about how Donald Trump is on a mission to save as many human lives as possible.
He's on a crusade, maybe even a spiritual mission, it seems. And then the president said this on Fox and Friends this morning.
I just want to end it. I want to end it. You know, we're not losing American lives. We're not losing American soldiers. We're losing Russian and Ukrainian, mostly soldiers, some people as missiles hit wrong spots or get lobbed into cities like Kiev and towns. But you know, if I can save 7000 people a week from being killed, I think that's a pretty
I want to try and get to heaven if possible. I'm hearing I'm not doing well. I really hit the bottom of the totem pole. If I can get to heaven, this will be one of the reasons. Well, I think I saved a lot of lives with India and Pakistan. They were going at it. The planes were being shot down. That was going to be maybe a nuclear
war if I let that go. And I did that through trade.
Now we talked yesterday about the president and how we have different cultures in America than Russia. And I think we talked about India as well. And it's possible, it's likely, it's hard to believe, but our president could have more concern and care for the lives of Russian soldiers than the president of Russia. Now the president said that line there
about going to heaven. I don't want to be too hard on the president here. I don't think he was intending to make a theological statement. He was making a bit of a joke even. But I'm going to take the opportunity. And I didn't say it was a joke. He kind of chuckled and he said, yeah, I'm at the bottom of the totem pole. But let's take the opportunity because I think a lot of people do believe, I know a lot of people believe, that good works will get you to heaven. Let me quote John Mason. He said, you could cure cancer and save the human race from extinction
by sending them to Mars and still be thrown in the Lake of fire. If you have not put your faith in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. John 14, six, Jesus said, I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the father, but through me. That's it. Does it X, unless you do this thing to, or unless you're more of that, or unless you
also, unless you stop a bunch of wars or unless you're a really good person or unless you're better than that guy over there. Nope. I am the way, the truth of life. No one comes to the father, but through me. Now on this first part, the way, the truth of life, if you're wandering about and
you don't know where you're going, Jesus is the way. If you're confused and you don't know what to think and you're lacking clarity, Jesus is the truth. And if you feel dead on the inside and don't know if you can go on with life or how you can go on, Jesus is the life. A campus in 1400s, he said, without the way, there is no going. Without the truth, there is no knowing.
Without the life, there is no living. I am the way which thou must follow, the truth in which thou must believe, the life for which thou must hope. It's a lot to say about that beginning part of the clause, but the final part might be the most scandalous thing that Jesus ever said.
It might be the most controversial thing, maybe. No one comes to the father except through me. He didn't say I'm one of the ways. He didn't say there's many ways. One way, the only way, and no other way. It doesn't matter how many wars you end, how many good deeds you commit, how nice of a person you are, there's only one way to get to the
Father. I'm gonna leave it here because I want this to be concise and as clear as possible. Just like Jesus was. No one comes to the Father, but through me. Mike Slater dot locals dot com. Transcripts for free on the website, Transcripts for free on the website, Mike Slater dot locals dot com.
