Why "Young Washington" Is Spectacular And The New Moana Movie Flopped
Politics By Faith, July 15, 2026
July 14, 2026

"Young Washington" was spectacular! Go see it as soon as possible, and no, I wasn't paid to say any of this! Bring everyone you know. No one could not love it. I was able to talk to the director of the movie and learn how important it was to them to be historically accurate. The movie also celebrates the truth that God protected George Washington and is intimately involved in the affairs of this nation.

Welcome to Politics by Faith. This is where we take the news of the day. We bring it to the Bible. We can walk away with peace and perspective. New headlines every day. I'm going to easily ask you since it's not the new under the sun.

So thanks for being here to get the true story, the story of the day today. Go see the movie, Young Washington. It was spectacular. I erupted in applause at the end of the movie. I've never done that. I've never applauded when a plane lands.

I've never clapped when a movie's over. but I jumped up and said, spectacular. And I wasn't alone. The whole theater loved it. It was incredible. I avoid historical movies because if they're not accurate, it annoys me. I see a thing on the screen and I wonder if it really happened.

And then after the movie, I go home and I check and it didn't happen at all. It's like, oh, what a waste. I hate that. And it's not worth it because it messes with your brain about what really, and then you have to un -remember, un -see something like that's not, I don't know if it's the, it's the, trained historian in me. I was a history major in college after all. But it just offends me because a whole generation of people are going to get their information about history from this movie and then it never happened. You guys just made it up.

So a film director has incredible power in reshaping a historical figure. I never saw the Napoleon movie by Ridley Scott. That's not how I'm not doing that. And I'm going to avoid the Odyssey by Christopher Nolan. As always, the book will be better. All that being said, I'm just trying to say to say that I'm a tough critic with history movies of all movies.

I'm a huge movie fan anyway, but with the history movies, certainly this movie is unbelievable. I loved every second of it. And then when I went back and looked at the historical accuracy of the major events in the movie, they all really happened. I don't, no spoiler alerts. And today, if you're not, if you haven't seen it yet, I want you to see it. So I'm not going to give any spoilers here and I want you to have the full experience, but I'll tell you, Washington was really on that Island.

That really happened. I talked to the director today of the movie. Um, we record an interview. We're going to air it tomorrow on. Sirius XM, but I asked him about the historical accuracy and how you'd handle that as a filmmaker and the responsibility of that. And he said, making a movie, he quoted some famous director.

He said, making a movie is not a photograph. It's more of a portrait. And you do have to do some things, mostly compress some time and compress characters. So he said, um, in real life, there were three French generals in the story of this part of the French Indian war. They had to condense that into one guy. Uh, they had to move the timing of some things.

So like that interaction with the Indian chief that actually happened 15 years after. the war. Actually, we'll tell that story in just a moment here. I'm OK with that. I think it's sort of like John Trumbull's painting of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. We've all seen that painting before.

That never happened. All the signers were not there in one room signing it like that. It didn't happen. That's a depiction, a portrait that represents the meaning of the moment. And we're OK with looking at the John Trumbull painting accordingly. And I think we should be here, too.

But well, let me say this. This is the best thing I learned during the interview with the director. If you revere the subject, then you can do this. So they're going to be true to the subject. And they made something that George would be proud of. They made something we can be proud of as patriots.

I love to be, and I'm not going to give any spoilers, but I loved it because it showed his failures. It showed his pride. It showed his ambition, how it got the best of them and was really bad. Uh, it showed how he dealt with that. I'm trying to be very careful. My words are showed how he dealt with that.

Uh, he took the lowest seat of the table. Love that Luke 14, 10 says when you are invited, go and sit at the lowest. place. At first he angled to get the best seat at the table. It didn't go well. And then he went back, took the lowest seat.

This movie did a wonderful job of showing the story arc of young Washington. And failure is one of the main themes of the movie. His mom said, failure is a tutor sent by God. If you don't learn from it, you fail twice. If you do learn, you gained wisdom. So lots of little themes like that.

The biggest lesson for me, I shouldn't even say lesson, because I've talked about that, I've been thinking a lot about this recently, and I maybe talked about it here too. The more I've been studying the Revolutionary War era and before that, it's just so how obvious God's hand is in the creation of America, because there's so many things that happened that were impossible. And George Washington is a major part of that. So in this movie, one of the themes is the obvious divine protection of George, and everyone knew it. In one battle, he wrote to his brother, quote, For I had four bullets through my coat and two horses shot under me, yet escaped unhurt, although death was leveling my companions on every side.

" In that battle, the British general was killed, 70 % of the men were killed, and almost all the officers. But he made it. There was an eyewitness there who said he escaped from harm on the battlefield that day. It was nothing short of miraculous. I expected every moment to see him fall. Now, before you say, oh, well, he's probably just hiding in the woods.

His duty and situation exposed him to every danger. Nothing but the superintending care of Providence could have saved him from the fate of all around him. It's true for all of George Washington's life. The movie, it did like three places where it could have ended. And, um, usually when a movie, sometimes movie, you're like, I should have stopped now, but that keeps going. And you're like, Oh, I should have, this one was like, Oh, everyone was better than the last.

And I'm glad it didn't end. Right. And again, I don't want to give anything away here, but I'll just tell you that the thing is the very last scene, uh, is real. Now that was condensed. This is the part that happened 15 years later. Um, I don't, I don't want to, let me, I'll just share this.

I, this one, I don't want to give away at all. Cause this is one of my favorite surprise things, but I'm just going to say the word, I'm going to say the word indigo and color. Okay. That's, that's my second favorite part of the whole movie indigo and color. That's the last scene. I take it back.

That's the last scene indigo and color. Um, but I just want to share this history so that when you see this. you'll know that oh this hopefully it's even more meaningful because like oh wow this really happened because in my brain i'm like did this really like it was incredible it's like did this really happen though so i didn't get the full meaning of it but now when you see the movie you'll know this really happened it's from a biography of george washington in the early 1800s so washington was in the ohio valley 1770 about 15 years after this giant failure from general washington failure but his survival. And they met this Indian chief. And the Indian chief said, I am a chief and the ruler over many tribes.

My influence extends to the waters of the great lakes and to the far blue mountains. I've traveled a long and weary path that I might see the young warrior of the great battle. It was on the day when the white man's blood mixed with the streams of our forest that I first beheld this chief. I called my young young man and said, Mark, yawn, tall and daring warrior. He is not of the red coat tribe. He has an Indian's wisdom and his warriors fight as we do.

Himself is alone, exposed quick. Let your aim be certain. And if he dies and then he dies. Right. So this Indian chief saying, Hey, Indian guys, look, look at that guy right there. This George Washington guy.

He's not like the rest of the British soldiers. He's different. You can tell. So get your guns and we don't, we never miss. So so aim properly. You won't miss.

Let your aim be certain. Our rifles were leveled rifles, which but for him knew not how to miss. But it was all in vain. A power mightier far than we shielded him from harm. He cannot die in battle. I am old and soon shall be gathered to the great council fire of my father's in the land of shades.

But before I go, there's something bids me speak in the voice of prophecy. Listen, the great spirit protects that man and guides his destinies. He will become the chief of nations and a people yet unborn, and they will hail him as the founder of a mighty empire. I'm just telling you, that's what's in the history books. You'll see how the movie handles that. This is the part of the podcast where we talk about what's broken.

I'll tell you what's broken. What's broken is that it's taken our entire lives for a movie to be made about George Washington. What's up with that? But I'm glad no one did because this one's so wonderful. And I want the people who made this one to be in charge of it for a long time. Another one's in the works already about George Washington during the Revolutionary War.

And I don't know how they're going to handle that. How are they possibly going to put that into a movie? But hopefully they make a ton of these. What's broken is we've gone through decades now of making silly superhero movies when we could have been watching movies about George Washington and Daniel Boone and Teddy Roosevelt and Davy Crockett and the Alamo and all these incredible moments in our history. How about Lewis and Clark? Stories about the gold rush.

There's tons of them, tons of ideas. But instead this weekend, the other option you had was the second live action remake of Moana, which by the way, is going to lose around $200 million. Disney is so out of ideas, they've destroyed all the brands they had. Star Wars, Indiana Jones, the Marvel movies. And to that, I say good riddance, good riddance. Now, maybe Hollywood can make stories that aren't cynical and that aren't silly, but stories that are meaningful and wholesome and inspirational and true.

And I say that, though, but maybe that's wrong. Maybe I don't. Maybe I don't want to make a movies anyway. I don't want to make in our stuff. The good stuff, I should say. I don't trust them.

I don't want people like that making young Washington. Hollywood can't reform. Everyone there hates you and they hate the things you stand for and the things you believe in. So many of them hate our country, hate the Bible. I don't want them anywhere near George Washington. I don't want them anywhere near our American story.

I'm glad the people who are handling it now are the ones who are doing it. Let's go to the Bible. George Washington believed in providence. So do I. God is sovereign over all things. He knows everything. He will always move anything and can move anything.

towards any end that glorifies him. His kingdom rules over all. And it's everything. It's everything we think is small, everything we think is a coincidence. Proverbs 16, 33 says, the lot is cast into the lap, but it's every decision is from the Lord. A lot back then was like a stone they would toss to try to make a decision about something.

Nothing's left up to chance. God decides everything. And you can't get in God's way. No one can, nothing can. Not the British, not Mamdani or whatever political force you want to talk about. No one can get in his way.

Isaiah 14, 24 says, the Lord of hosts has sworn saying, surely as I have thought, so it shall come to pass. And as I have purposed, so it shall stand. What are you going to do? You're going to stop him. Isaiah 46, 10 says, my counsel shall stand and I will do it all my pleasure. And I will do all, and I will do all my pleasure.

Atheists. will say our founders were deists, right? This idea that, sure, maybe God exists, but he's like a watchmaker and he makes the watch and then he lets the watch go. And he has no role in the course of human affairs. That's not true. Our founders did not believe that.

They believed that God had a hand in the existence, creation and existence of America. It was funny, even as I'm talking about this, because we've been raised and trained to think that our founders were atheists or deists, we don't Even I catch myself being like, oh man, you might be exaggerating a little bit. Maybe that's not entirely true. No, it's entirely true. Just look at George Washington's first inaugural address. You wonder why they don't teach American history in schools anymore?

Because if you taught this address, you could not then teach kids that George Washington was an atheist or a deist or something. George Washington started off his first inaugural address as president the United States, 1789. He said it would be peculiarly improper to omit in this first official act, my fervent supplications to that almighty being who rules over the universe, who presides in the councils of nations. Same paragraph. No people can be bound to acknowledge and adore the invisible hand which conducts the affairs of men more than the people of the United States.

Every step by which they have advanced to the character of an independent nation, seems to have been distinguished by some token of providential agency, including in the life of George Washington himself. " This is how George Washington started the country. That's how he kicked it off in 1789. Before that, in 1776, Washington told Joseph Reed that if we win this war, then there's no question, no question that it was Almighty God who made it happen. He wrote to Thomas Nelson. In 1778, he said, the hand of providence has been so conspicuous in all of this that he must be worse than an infidel, the man who lacks faith and more than wicked that has not gratitude enough to acknowledge his obligations.

It's like, it's so odd. Think about this letter. It's so obvious, George Washington saying it's so obvious that God is in control of all of this, that if you don't believe that you are an infidel. And you are more than wicked if you are not grateful to God for everything he's done. Amazing. I'll leave it just, I know I got off the Bible, but I'm back on George Washington, but he gave this address.

It's a known address called Address to the Delaware Indian Chiefs, May 12th, 1778. And the leaders of the Indians, they brought three Indian kings. to be educated by the Americans. And George Washington said, you do well to wish to learn of our arts and ways of life, and above all, the religion of Jesus Christ. These will make you a greater and happier people than you are. What if our popular culture was seeped in this history and this truth?

Can we be? Of course we can. But we need to make movies like Young Washington a success so people are inspired because the stories are true. It's got to tell them. I'll end with a Bible verse, 1 Peter 3 15, but in your hearts, revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.

Maybe it's easier for us to say, you know, we love America. We love George Washington. Why do you love George Washington? Ah, he was awesome. And that's maybe now you can tell a story after you watch the movie, you'll be like, well, it's one time when he was with his friend and they were on an island. That's great.

But make sure it's even easier to talk about how much you love Jesus and to give an answer why. We can know the history of George Washington and the French and Indian War. It's great. It's wonderful. But we need to know the Bible even more. And we need to know God's word even more.

And we need to be ready to prove how he's changed our lives. And we need to be ready to live every day differently so that we can glorify him. We may not go down in the history books like George Washington did. Maybe no one's going to make a movie about your life. But if you're a Christian, your name is going to be written in the book of life. It's even better.

We were on Fox & Friends talking about all of the train robberies in CA. It's so bad the train company says they may have to ride right THROUGH Los Angeles entirely and never slow down lol. What a joke this state it.

This causes these progressive politicians to get even more entrenched.

Boys to men, girls to women

How do you do it? Advice please!

Dean Abbott,
"Why contemporary relations between the sexes are so messed up. The problem starts with men because men lead, the masculine pursues and initiates, and problems always start at the level of leadership.

Most men aren't taught that a relationship with a woman means accepting responsibility. No one tells us that a woman represents not only pleasure, but obligation.
The fact that having a relationship with a woman means responsibility and obligation never enters many men's minds.

When these men enter into a relationship with a woman, they are overwhelmed by her needs, her feminine communication style, and her emotions.
Moreover, he unconsciously resents her for having needs at all since he has been conditioned to see her solely as a source of pleasure.
When her anger and disappointment over his irresponsibility gets intense enough, he splits in search of another woman.
He mistakenly believes the problem wasn't his attitude nor that it is a ...

Morning Motivation, April 21, 2023

I found a way to easily transcribe the podcasts, so I will post them here first before they go out to iTunes and the rest.

Good morning. Welcome to The Morning Motivation, brought to you by Public Square and Patriot Gold Group. I'm grateful you're here. I was reading a sermon by the great Puritan preacher John Owen in the mid-1600s. I'm so fascinated by this time period, 1600s, early 1700s. We focus a lot on our founding fathers. I think that the Tea Party movement and just conservatism in general has focused a lot on the founding fathers, and that's amazing, but I'm very fascinated by our founding grandfathers or great-grandfathers, the people who created the culture that our founding fathers were raised in.

0:00:44
Isn't that a fascinating era? We got like 1776, like that's great, I love it, I want to know more, I don't know nearly enough. But what about the 1720s? What was going on there? Or the late 1600s? What was going on in America at that time? And you know, we've all heard of the Puritans, but you ...

You were terse and dismissive in this morning's 7:25 Eastern time call with the Man with four step children applying for Naturalization from his Naturalized U.S. Wife of Philippine descent. You should be more considerate of history about America's relationship such as with the Philippine People, which is quite notable with intrinsic factors which should have favorable weight in consideration the Filipino propensity to immigrate and become American Citizens.

"The Resident Commissioner of the Philippines was a non-voting member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 1907 until the Philippines gained independence in 1946. This role was established under the Philippine Organic Act of 1902, allowing the Philippines to have representation in Congress, similar to current non-voting members from U.S. territories."

Don't be so apparently xenophobic and stop misrepresenting American (and Christian while you're at it) History in omission through culpable ignorance.

A Cry For Help: "I Own A Strip Club"
Politics By Faith, August 24, 2026

Someone called in the other day and said he owns a strip club, but he's willing to get out of the business. Let's help, Greg! And lest we get on our high horse because we don't own a strip club, we should all be like the people outside of Simon's house asking for Jesus' help.

Welcome to Politics by Faith. It's where we take the news of the day, we bring it to the Bible, so we can walk away with peace and perspective. New headlines every day, but Ecclesiastes says it's not the new end of the sun. So thanks for being here to get the true story. The story of the day today, a call for help. At the end of my SiriusXM radio show on Friday, at the very end, last phone call, the segment before that, we were talking about rap music. And now, for the first time since 1990 no rap song is in the Billboard top 40.

And I just talked about that. It's great. Now, it's not that the other 40 songs are good. It's not like the Lawrence Welk Orchestra is knocking out the number one hits. Sorry, it's all trash. But at least rap's not in the top right. But I made the point that the peak of rap's popularity was only 30 market share. Usually, rap's like 20 25 market share. And there's just an impression that everyone's supposed to love it. Like, everyone does love rap and we're all supposed to love it. And no one likes it. So, I think we can stop pretending to like it. That was like a throwaway point at the end of the show, whatever. And some people called and they talked about rap music's changed. Like, oh, it used to be good in the 80s and now it's worse. You're like, okay. So, we had a couple of calls.

But some guy called in, Greg, in Michigan, Detroit. He said, Slater, let me tell you how bad rap music has become. He said, I own a strip club and the rap music today is so degenerate. That's the word he used, degenerate. I won't even play. It's so, rap music is so degenerate. I won't play it at my strip club. Is it sometimes? I strip club. He said, sometimes a song will slip through. Someone will pay 100 to the DJ and some modern rap song will pop through. He said, everyone sings along to it. He said, it's awful.

So we talked about rap music for a little bit. I said, now, Greg, hold on. You said something a moment ago. You own a what? And he shared a story. He said he's felt a pull really ever since he got into the business. That pull. I said, what do you mean a pull? You felt a pull. He's like, I, you know, the morality of it. I said, that's your conscience. People can sear their conscience. You should listen to it. He said he's a Christian. He said, You got to make money somehow. And he also said, We have free. I want to get back to that free will part in a minute. And then he went on in his rationalization and said, I protect these girls. I'm sort of a fatherlike figure and I'm a security and I'm sort of like a boyfriend. " I said, and pimp."

And he just, he went through like all these different excuses for how he's, how it's okay that he's in this industry. But I was encouraged By Greg because you could tell he still knew it was wrong. He said he has bad knees, owning a strip club is easier than he was a plumber for a long time. Bad knees, bad back or something. And I encouraged him that maybe he should do something else. And would you do something else if something else were available? And he said something like, I've been wanting to get out of the industry.

" Something like that. It was a call for help. Now I'm issuing a call for help. I bring this story up for two reasons. First, if you own a company or know of a company in the Detroit area and we can give Greg in Detroit an option and get him out of the strip club, how incredible would that be? Now. I challenge Greg with this. Not only will you be leaving the strip club, which is good for you, but you are in this unique position to be able to speak to the women, to rescue them out of what they're doing. I can speak about the whole thing from my high horse up here, but Greg, you know these people. You intimately know them. You know their names. You also know the places, you know the other owners, you know the girls. You can speak to them in a language that they understand, and you can rescue them. You can really help them. I'm not in a position to help these girls, but you are. Especially the ones that know you and trust you. But then also, after you rescue them, just girls.

Young women in the industry in general, you know what makes the whole thing tick and work and all. You can help people in such an incredible way. He says, Well, the money's good. So I asked him, I had to go. It was the end of the show. And I said, Greg, if you're interested. Send me an email. He did. He wrote me right away. And then I asked him back. I said, Greg, what are you making? What do you need to make in order for you to leave comfortably? He says, He makes just over 100000 a year. He's a plumber and he has a bachelor's degree. He's making pretty good money where he is. And Jesus said. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Greg is in a position to save souls he really can. He's the man to do it. Just need some help. If you're in the Detroit area and you can maybe help Greg out with a job or an opportunity, my personal email is slaterradiogmailcom Slaterradiogmailcom and if all of us.

The second reason I want to bring this up, if all of us can please pray for Greg in Michigan. And I pray that he makes a hard choice. That's not a hard choice. It's a monumental choice and acts on it. He says he's a Christian. So I pray the Holy Spirit speaks to him loudly and he can take these steps. And then I pray that he has zero regrets and instead feels this relief. I want Greg to, I would just love for there to be an opportunity. Someone listening now is like, oh, yeah, like I'll give Greg. I'll. Interview Greg, right? And then Greg's great. So we take on Greg, Greg leaves, and then he can help these girls. But the moment Leaves, I want him to feel this joy, this relief and this joy, like, Oh, I can finally, I'm doing what I know I should be doing."

And then I can go glorify God by spreading the word in a very dark place, a place that he used to spend a lot of time in. So if you could pray, again, you may be like, I'm in Alabama or whatever, I can't help Greg. " You can, if you can pray for Greg in Detroit, that would be amazing. And if you're in Detroit and you can help Greg, I got a lot of emails from people after that show, after that, who heard that. And they're like, oh man, it was moving for me and a lot of other people. We just need one person. One person to be in a position to help Greg do the right thing. It can be hard to do the right thing, but it is easier when people come alongside and help. My wife and I, to be personal here, my wife and I, when we were engaged We were living together. And we were going to this church.

And they confronted us on it. And it was as loving as it could possibly be done. I wasn't a Christian. I wasn't baptized at the time. I was studying the Bible. So I was studying the Bible with these men. So I remember the night, they're like, hey, come over and we'll study the Bible. And then my wife went with some women. And I went with some men. And the men were just ran through the scripture about living together. I forgot exactly the scriptures they used, but I remember being fully convicted and giving a lot of excuses, plenty of excuses, right? Oh, it's expensive, whatever, all the excuses people, but just couldn't deny the word of God anymore. I remember I jokingly, what's the right word? It was jokingly. But it was also like exhaustively frustrating. I don't know the right word, but I threw my pencil at. Guillermo. Guillermo was the leader of the church. I threw it at him as if to say, Well, I'm out. I got no other. I didn't throw it. I want to be clear. I didn't throw it at him. I was like, all right. Well.

No Milk and Rotten meat! Life Aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln
Politics By Faith, August 19, 2026

Reports are spreading that life aboard the aircraft carrier USS Lincoln is difficult and uncomfortable. How bad are things? There's not enough fresh milk. I'll tell you why the media is spreading this story and what the truth is.

Welcome to Politics by Faith. It's where we take the news of the day, we bring it to the Bible, so we can all walk away with peace and perspective. New headlines every day, but Ecclesiastes says it's not the new under the sun. Thanks for being here to get the true story, the story of the day today. Hayden Panettiere has died at the age of 36. Hayden was a child actress.

Her first TV show was Jim Henson's TGIF show in 1996, short -lived. It was called Aliens in the Family. She was seven. Did a lot of TV commercials as well. She was the voice of one of the characters in A Bug's Life. Her biggest childhood role was Remember the Titans as the precocious little girl.

Her big break as an adult was Heroes, some TV show, and in Nashville. A lot of headlines said she was from the Scream franchise. I'm old enough to think that Courtney Cox is the face of the Scream franchise, but I guess there was some reboot. She was found dead at Judson Mill Lofts in Greenville, South Carolina. Authorities don't think there was any foul play, no sign of trauma that could have contributed to her death. TMZ says that in the 911 dispatch, there was something said about an overdose.

But as I'm recording this now, we're not sure yet. I read this in USA Today. They said in the years leading up to her death, Panettiere had been candid about her health and struggles with substance abuse. The actress previously revealed that she struggled with alcohol and opioid addiction and sought treatment. And she also spoke openly about experiencing postpartum depression after welcoming her daughter Kayla in 2014. Her younger brother, also an actor, Jensen Panettiere, died in 2023 at the age of 28 from a heart condition.

Her daughter is with her ex -fiancé, so lives with her dad in Europe. So I don't know what that situation is about. what's broken about this horrible story is it's a reminder that celebrities don't live a great life. I saw that she had a net worth of $15 million. I don't know what her actual net worth was, right, but a lot. And she was famous and glamorous, and she went to all the red carpets and the big special events, and people were like, ooh, Hayden's here.

And I was like, she could afford anything in the world. She could go anywhere in the world. Anywhere she wanted right now, she could go and stay at the nicest place in the world, nicest hotel in New York City or wherever, and do whatever she wanted. And just wasn't happy. How are you doing? And if your excuse is, well, you know, I'm all right, but I don't have $15 million.

If I had $15 million, then I'd be, I'd be real happy. If I were famous, then I would be, I'd be, then I'd be grateful. So obviously not the answer. Happiness can't be about your circumstances. If you're not happy now, then you won't be happy with the change of circumstance. You really won't.

You won't. It depends where you find your happiness. And you can never go about thinking that your life would be, if you were a celebrity, then life would be good. Like it's not it. And most celebrities will admit it. It's just not a good life.

I think one of the reasons it's not a good life is because you're never sure about your relationships. Are people there for the money? Are people there for the fame? People there for the perks? How loyal are your friends? And you can be rich and famous, big celebrity, but your 11 year old daughter lives in Europe with your ex.

Like what good is all that money? Who cares? Who wants this money? And then it makes life seem even more shallow and meaningless. It's relationships that matter the most. Your relationship with Jesus, first and foremost, which is what we're going to get to.

But then secondly, your relationships here on earth. And if those relationships are questionable at best or broken, then no matter what your relationships are here on earth, you need to have that relationship with Jesus. I was convicted this morning with a scripture that I've read a thousand times. Matthew 7, 21, Jesus is not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, we'll enter the kingdom of heaven. but the one who does the will of my father who is in heaven. " And his followers, they're like, what are you talking about?

We prophesied in your name. We casted out demons. We did all these mighty works. We did stuff. What do you mean? Not everyone who says, Lord, Lord, we'll go to heaven.

Like we're doing the stuff. Like if we went back and we saw this happening, we would say that these people who are questioning this, we would say they're Christians. And then Jesus said, and then I will declare to them, I never knew you. Depart from me, you who practice lawlessness. That line never stood out to me. All the times I've read this, that last part, you who practice lawlessness.

The Greek word here for to know me is the intimate knowing of someone or an intimate relationship with someone. He's saying, you people, you're doing stuff, quote unquote in my name, but you don't know me. I don't know you. We don't have a relationship and you're practicing lawlessness actually. 1 John 2, 3 says, and by this, we know that they have come to know him. If we keep his commandments. Whoever says, I know him, but does not keep his commandments is a liar and the truth is not in him.

There's a keeping of the commandments. They're not practicing lawlessness. And Jesus ends the sermon on the Mount, Matthew 7, 24. Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And then it says, everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be the foolish man who built his house on the sand. So there's, there's a, it's not just hearing the words, you got to go do them and not just do anything, but follow his commands.

Now, of course, there's no working our way to Jesus, no working our way to heaven. These things, the doing stuff, it's the fruit that comes out of the intimate relationship with Jesus. It comes out of the knowing Jesus. And Jesus is the only person that brings peace. No matter what rough times, difficult times, mental health, addiction, whatever, come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. So many people who need relationship, they need intimacy, and they need rest.

All of that comes through Jesus. Jesus said, take my yoke upon you and learn from me. Learn from me. I am gentle and humble at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. How many people today need rest in their souls? For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Isn't that incredible?

Find rest for your souls in Jesus. Nothing else will give it to you. Nothing else on this earth will make you content. We need that reminder because if we walk around disgruntled and discontent, There's a chance that Jesus says, I never knew you. You're not looking to me. You're not looking to me for your refuge.

You're not looking to me for a relationship. Nothing else. Fame, money, celebrity, nothing else will fill that void. Nothing else will give you rest. That is all and only in Jesus. Don't miss these reminders.

Trump: "Who Are These Animals?" Destroying The WWII Memorial
Politics By Faith, August 17, 2026

In this country, there are people "of the Devil," and there are people "of Christ." We are called to build. The rest are dead set on destruction. Whether it's institutions, organizations, or statues and memorials, those of the Devil can't stop destroying everything that is good, beautiful, and true.

Welcome to Politics by Faith. This is where we take the news of the day, we bring it to the Bible, so we can walk away with peace and perspective. New headlines every day. They never stop. They keep coming. I'm going to bombard you.

But Ecclesiastes says it's not the new under the sun. So thanks for being here to get the true story, the story of the day today. Vandalizing the World War II Memorial. So what happened here? The president tweeted out the other day, our beautiful World War II Memorial was just hit by spray painting vandals. There could be no greater insult to those Americans, American heroes who died in World War II.

First, the reflecting pool. Now this, we are on their trail. Where do these animals come from? So someone wrote with spray paint on the World War II Memorial. They wrote clean hands, dirty money. I don't know what that means, but then they just made this big mess.

all around. And then someone or someone else, I don't know that same person, I don't know, poured bubble soap in the fountains of the memorial. So it made this big foam bubble mess. The good news of this story is that the U . S. attorney for Washington, D .

C. is also the DA for D . C. The weird quirk of how, like what Washington, D . C. even is. I mean, thank goodness that Jeanine Pirro is the D .

A. of D . C. because she is able to arrest murderers and drug dealers. There's no other city in the country where the D . A.

is going to be someone like Jeanine Pirro. D . C. is the only place. So she's in charge of this, and she already charged someone. Two felony charges, vandalism against property and destruction of Veterans Memorial.

That's a specific charge. Melissa Ferris. Facing up to 10 years in prison, now in custody, of course, it's a degenerate. looking person as they almost always are. Her outside is a reflection of her heart, a heart that is consumed with destruction. And that's what I want to talk about here.

That's what I want to talk about what's broken in this story. I cannot stress enough how dead set these people are on destruction. We don't, it's hard for us to understand this because you're not, you're not dead set on destruction. You're trying to build things. You're trying to make things better. These people are, they're different.

They set on destruction at the risk of getting off topic. Let me, let me weave for just a second here. This is on my mind. Cause we've been talking a lot about this on the, on the radio show lately, the importance of a high trust society. And we've taken it for granted our whole life. We've lived in a high trust society and we didn't recognize it.

And now we're losing it. And it's going to be gone fast. A basic example we can all understand is. You grew up in a world, in a country, in a culture where you walk into a store and it's all there. And then you take a thing off the shelf and you put it in a basket or a cart and then you go over there to the checkout person and you pay and then you walk out the door. Well enough people just stopped doing that.

Like they would just steal stuff. So then the stores had to lock everything up. We all know about that example. It's mostly foreigners who do this. because they come from low -trust societies, or it's just degenerate people. Maybe they grew up here, but they're not American at their core because that's not our culture.

But there's other examples of high -trust society that we're losing. McDonald's said they're getting rid of self -serve soda stations. Have you ever thought about that? Have you ever thought about the fact that you can buy one soda, and you just walk over there, or you just get a water. You could ask for a water, and you just go over there, and you grab a drink. And if you want another one, you gotta go back and pay, but that's okay because you can just fill it up yourself.

Like that's a high trust society, but they're getting rid of that. Why are they doing it? McDonald's said they're getting rid of it because of quote, changing consumer habits. No, it's because disgusting people keep stealing soda. We talked about a story the other day on the radio of how people are not only attacking and robbing the mailman, mail carriers, Now gangs are infiltrating the post office to become mail carriers so they can systematically steal from you and I, from everyone. They can steal important documents, credit cards, whatever they want.

So how about taking mail delivery for granted? I never thought twice about that one. I never thought that people would just steal the mail because we've always lived in a high trust society, but people now steal the mail. It's crazy. Someone called in the other day because I have an open call for anyone who ever has a high trust story. that they wanna celebrate.

This guy called in and said they were in a convenience store in their town, and the person forgot their wallet, and the cashier person said, ah, don't worry about it, I owe you. Next time you're here, pay it off. And the guy was the second person in line, said, what? What was that? Oh, that's how it used to be. All these old -timey movies, the Wild West, where people put stuff on their tab.

Tab? You have a tab? What do you mean you have a tab? If you ever, if you have an example of a high -trust society, thing, element, example, story, something in your town that's high trust. Please let me know. I love these stories so much.

Let me know in the comments of our YouTube page, your high trust society example, whether it's something you had growing up or let's pray something you still have today. Just one that popped in my head is in my town I used to live in, we went back a couple of years ago for a vacation and just like a mile or so down the lake where we stayed, there was like a farm stand. Like a farm stand is a classic example, right? You put your money in the little Folgers cup, make your own change. This guy did that though, but for maple syrup.

This guy had this little shed of maple syrup. There had to be like $10 ,000 worth of maple syrup. That's an expensive item. And it was all just, you know, grab it, whatever. Grab what you want and leave your money right there. Like, oh man.

So please let me know in the comments your high trust society story. And I love to hear these stories because when, every time they happen, it, it tells people that this is how we do it, right? Like, so, so if you, if someone does a high trust society thing to you, you're more likely to then do another high trust society thing to someone else. And then it snowballs because people are like, oh, wow, we were doing that. We're, we're honest. Oh, that's awesome.

I want to be honest like that too, to people and it snowballs for the better, but it could spiral down fast as well. It's one of the things we lose when the whole third world comes here because they view your trust as weakness. It's a weakness to be taken advantage of. The vice president had an anti -fraud round table like a week or so ago. And the second person in command there, someone at the treasury department, said these welfare programs were designed for a high trust society. And they worked without having to do a lot of paperwork and checking in on people and all the rest.

When more foreigners come in than ever before and it's just game on. People taking advantage of this thinking, wow, these Americans are just a bunch of suckers. Can you believe it? They're just giving all this money away. I can't believe they're so stupid. Third worlders, they come here and they see our high trust as weakness.

Can you believe people are just given free food away at the food pantry? They're just giving food away. It's like, yeah, that's not what that's for. Can you believe we just got to fill this form and we'll make millions of dollars a year with our fake daycare? It's free money. They just give it to you.

They see our trust as weakness. Similarly, back at the end of my weave, I think this ties in here because these are people who walk around and they just see, they see weakness. And there's other people who walk around and they're dead set on destruction. It's in their heart. They see things that are good, beautiful, and true. and their wicked heart says, I have to destroy that.

And it could be a thing like a statue or like a war memorial. It could be an organization like the Boy Scouts. It could be a company like Bud Light or Cracker Barrel. It could be an industry like Hollywood, or you can even think like Star Wars specifically. Like it's good, I'm gonna destroy it. That woke feminist woman who came in there, Kathleen Kennedy or whatever her name is, comes in and just destroys the whole thing.

I saw a video the other day of the Vanderbilt Divinity School. It's hollowed out and woke trans in every way. It could be any other part of our culture, like professional sports. It could be an institution like marriage, whatever, whatever it is. I just list off a pretty broad range of things. The left, they're very good at knowing what the most important things are to take down. We talked a lot about last week.

We're going to keep talking about it too. The left, about 50 years or so, their focus on taking down marriage. I know what I'm saying is true. it's in the Bible. Satan and his demons are destroyers. Check out this line in the Bible, Revelation 9 11.

It says they have as king over them the angel of the bottomless pit. His name in Hebrew is Abaddon, A -B -A -D -D -O -N, and in Greek he's called Apollon. The word Abaddon in Hebrew, it says that's what his name is. His name Abaddon in Hebrew, it means destruction. That's literally what the word means. This is the fallen angel who's in charge of this bottomless pit.

His name is Destruction. Other translations of that Hebrew word are Ruin. I looked at the Blue Letter Bible and described it as the name of the angel prince of the infernal regions, the minister of death and the author of havoc on the earth. Also a destroying angel. The fallen angel, the demon's name is Destruction. I know I'm hitting on something I think is right on.

Jesus calls Satan a murderer from the very beginning. A murderer destroys life. The devil is like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour. Satan destroys. Demons destroy. That's their goal.

John 10, Jesus says the thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. This is what ungodly people do, their intent on destruction. We see what Satan is capable of in Job. Now Satan's permitted to do all this here, right? But we see what he's capable of when he strikes Job and how he strikes Job. He takes away Job's livelihood, kills his animals, his servants, kills all 10 of his children.

They were eating together, having a wonderful time as a family. Satan then attacks Job's health and then Satan tries to turn Job against God. These are the strategies of Satan. They're all destruction. They're destroying health, life, relationships. So what Satan does, he destroys.

And people today, they act in Satan's name. 1 John 3 .12 says, we should not be like Cain, who was of the evil one and murdered his brother. Cain was of the evil one. There's a lot of people who are, even today. We shouldn't be though. We are of Christ.

There are some people who are of the evil one. We are of Christ. Christ. We are called to hire. We are called to godliness. We are called to righteousness.

We are called to build. Whether it's building monuments to World War II veterans, to maintain their memory, or for building a family or a school, or you're serving your town, or you're doing amazing work at your job, we build. Colossians 3 .23 says, whatever you do, work heartily as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord, you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ. I will be fair though. The Bible does say that we destroy too.

In general, we're builders, but there is one thing we destroy. 1 John 3 says, the reason the son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. Maybe we don't do that then. Jesus already did. Jesus destroyed the works of the devil. It's now our job to build.
