Good morning, welcome to the Morning Motivation brought to you by Public Square and Patriot Gold Group. Yesterday we talked about the tapestry of life. We only can look at the back, but God sees the whole tapestry. And from the back it's a mess, but from the front it all makes sense. What's the, that's a few but I would say Romans 8 29 for those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his son in order that he may be the firstborn among many brothers and those whom he predestined he also called and those whom he called he also justified and those who be justified he also glorified.

So there's your tapestry that God knows, predestined, foreknew, before the creation of the world. He knew. He sees the tapestry. And we see nothing. We got nothing at all. And God works in mysterious ways. Isaiah 55, 8, For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.

For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. You think you can figure out His ways as they're happening? No chance." That's such a good line. John 13, verse 6. He came to Peter Simon, Jesus, who said to him, Lord, do you wash my feet? And Jesus answered, What I am doing you do not understand now, but afterward you will understand.

Meaning, one day you're going to look at the front of the tapestry. Right now you're looking at the back, you've got nothing, you have no clue. You don't understand. But one day you will. And that's a promise. I used an expression a second ago, God works in mysterious ways. We've all heard that before. Have you ever wondered where that came from? It came from a hymn written in 1773 by William Cowper. And just like all things, the original is way better.

So the expression we know is, God works in mysterious ways. But the opening line of the hymn is, God moves in a mysterious way. I like that way more. I like a mysterious, a single, a mysterious way. God is working in a mysterious way, not many mysterious ways. I don't quite know the difference between the two, but I like the original more. Here it is. God moves in a mysterious way, his wonders to perform. He plants his footsteps in the sea and rides upon the storm. Deep in unfathomable minds of never failing skill, he treasures up his bright designs and works his sovereign will.

Yea, fearful saints, fresh courage take, The clouds, yea, so much dread, Are big with mercy and shall break In blessings on your head. Judge not the Lord by feeble sense, But trust Him for His grace. Behind a frowning providence He hides a smiling face. His purposes will ripen fast, unfolding every hour. The bud may have a bitter taste, but sweet will be the flower. Blind unbelief is sure to err and scan his work in vain. God is his own interpreter and he will make it plain. I love the line about the bud may have a bitter taste, but sweet will be the flower. I want to talk more about that one tomorrow. But the point today is you can't figure it out.

Like the plan, the other side of the tapestry, what God is doing, you can't figure it out. You have feeble senses. Judge not the Lord by feeble sense. You can't do it. Like how could you, what do you know? So what do you do? Trust him. But Slater, the backside of my tapestry is a mess. And we shared the poem yesterday of Corrie ten Boom talking about it's being woven with sorrow. He's weaving with sorrow right now. What's going on? You can't know. You can't know. You have to today. Now. Right this second. Just trust.
