You can't just say you're a Christian. You're called to do more. William Wilberforce wasn't silenced when he was attacked. We need to have that same conviction.
Good morning.
Welcome to Morning Motivation brought to you by the Public Square App, Patriot Gold Group. This week started about a school district in Utah banning the Bible. The Bible is hate speech, and that's just what's coming for the whole country. And the question is, how many Christians will stand up against the attack, the true persecution attack that's coming against Christians in America, and the importance of us standing up and speaking up and not being like Joseph of Arimathea where we regret that we didn't speak up when we had the opportunity I want to wrap up this little series on The church and how important it is to be the church We'll go to Deuteronomy 15, sorry, Deuteronomy 30 verse 15. See, I've set before you today life and good, death and evil. So you get to pick. What do you want, life and good or death and evil? I want life and good. If you obey the commandments of the Lord your God by walking in his ways by keeping his commandments and his statutes and his rules Then you shall live and multiply and the Lord your God will bless you in the land that you are entering to take possession of it But if your heart turns away and you will not hear but are drawn away to worship other gods and serve them. I I declare to you today that you shall surely perish. Oh, Slater, I don't worship Moloch. Well, we all serve other gods. Greed, pride, lust, whatever. Yourself. The earth. You shall not live long in the land that you're going over the Jordan to enter and possess. I call heaven and earth to witness against you today that I've set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore, choose life that you and your offspring may live, loving the Lord your God, obeying his voice, and holding fast to him. For he is your life in length of days, that you may dwell in the land that your Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them." It's not enough to call yourself a Christian. It's about how you live. You have to actually be the church. You have to actually walk in his ways. That's what it says right here. To walk in his ways and keep his commandments and statutes and rules. You have to be different from the world. William Wilberforce, he was a British pastor who preached against slavery, but he was told that his religious views should stay in the church and not enter into the public or political sphere. Lot of people had a lot of money riding on the slavery business. But I love this line from Eric Metaxas. He says, Wilberforce knew that his religious views about slavery were only religious to those who didn't like them. And it was a way to silence them. Oh, stop being so religious. Keep your religion to yourself. We must have a conviction right now, we must make a vow that we will not be people who are silenced by accusations like that. That's not even like—it's one thing to be called a bigot. I mean, that's ridiculous enough to be silenced by, but to say, oh, you're being religious. It's like, okay. Do not be afraid to live the truth and to preach the truth. Do not be afraid to live the truth and to preach the truth. Be the church.
