The Boy Scouts have lost 60% of their members. Their latest Jamboree had an LGBTQ tent. There are girls in the BOY scouts. How did this happen? Well, their recent president said the Boy Scouts needed to change or else they would become irrelevant. It turns out, the changes they've made have MADE them irrelevant. We don't need progress in America, we need...restoration.
Good morning, welcome to the morning motivation brought to you by Patriot Gold Group and the Public Square app. It's my favorite part of the day. Truly I love my job. I love everything I do. But just when I do this, these recordings, it just feels right. Scouts had their national jamboree in West Virginia the other day. And the Washington Post was very excited because they had a big LGBTQ tent at the Boy Scouts. Boy Scouts came out of the muscular Christianity movement of the early 1900s along with the YMCA. It's not explicitly a Christian organization, but it is on my honor. I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country Reverence to God is one of the twelve goals, but in 2015 they allowed gay Scout leaders and in 2019 they allowed girls Which is insane to me Because we already have the Girl Scouts and whoever founded the Girl Scouts scouts didn't think for a second that the girls should just be in the boy scouts. They thought we should have girl scouts. They have boy scouts, we'll have girl scouts and everything worked fine until we had people who just want to destroy everything. And it's sad the boy scouts demise. In 2013 there were 40,000 people that went to the Jamboree and then this year there were only 13 membership nationwide boy scouts. Only in 2019, just a couple of years ago, it was 1.97 million, now it's 762,000. Way less than half, what a shame. And we talked about this a lot on Breitbart, Breitbart News Daily on SiriusXM Patriot. The former president, 2016 to 2018, he's on the board, they rotate around every two years. Randall Stevenson, he was the CEO of AT&T until last year as well, and he's this woke guy, and he said he has a quote proudly he said he has a quote on his wall of the former secretary of the VA and the quote says if you don't like the change you're going to like if you don't like change you're going to like irrelevance even less so the idea is you have to change otherwise you're gonna be irrelevant and I just could not disagree with that more look at the changes the Boy Scouts have made, and they're well on their way to not existing. Forget about irrelevance, they may not even be a thing anymore. But it's such a great quote because you can see how progressives love it. It's just change. If you don't like change, you're going backwards. It's like, no, no, we don't need change. We don't need more progress. We need more restoration. C.S. Lewis, that's the theme of the week, restoration. C.S. Lewis said we all want progress, but progress means getting nearer to the place where you want to be. And if you've taken a wrong turn, then to go forward does not get you any nearer.

But the progressives have this mentality
0:03:23
that you just go, just go forward, forward, forward, forward, forward, forward, forward.
Well, where?
Just that way, forward. Like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, where do you want to go? Where are we going exactly? Articulate that. Then we can talk about whether or not forward is the right way to get there. If you're on the wrong road, progress means doing an about-turn and walking back to the right road. Then in that case, the man who turns back the soonest is the most progressive man. There's nothing progressive about being pig-headed and refusing to admit a mistake. And I think if you look at the present state of the world, it's pretty plain that humanity has been making some pretty big mistakes. on the wrong road. And if that is so, we must go back. Going back is the quickest way on. But they just want you to go. People, truly most people in America think
0:04:08
progress by default is good.
0:04:10
I think that maybe they think technological progress mostly like, oh, like more stuff, more computers, faster, better, good. Even that's not true. With AI, maybe we should like really slow our roll on that too but that certainly doesn't apply to morals and values and virtues. No no we get we're gonna go forward we gotta go back. But you can't say that to people on the left who love progress because they think the past is bad. One of the the insults that it's mostly used against Ron DeSantis for some reason I don't know why it's not used against other conservatives but specifically Ron DeSantis is he wants to take us back to the 1950s and I hear that and I think great you mean when there was no divorce and kids could run around outside all day and come home before the streetlights turn on and entertainment was wholesome and people church on Sunday and like what was that that sounds awesome and then the left says no no no back when there was Jim Crow and it's like okay yeah we can fix the bad things but let's not progress to the point where we're abandoning the good things too which is clearly what we've done so what is restoration instead of progress I want to restore it appears 136 times in the Bible in different ways. The Webster's original definition is to bring back or recover from lapse or degeneracy or ruin to its former state. And then the Bible, the original Bible is amazing because it by default quotes the Bible and then the second quote is poetry or some great literature. They never just do random sentences like our dictionary does today. So it quotes paradise loss, quotes the opening stanza of paradise loss. Loss of Eden till one greater man restore it and regain the blissful seat. That's Jesus. Other definitions, to heal, to cure, to recover from disease, to repair, to rebuild, as to restore and to build Jerusalem. Daniel 925. Another definition he gives, to revive, to resuscitate, to bring back to life. Those are all great. Restore. The Latin word means to set up and to establish and then re means back again. To establish again, to restore, to set up again. Isn't that what we need in America? Oh, the last definition from the original Webster's. Free from the effects of sin, bringing back to a former and better state. That's it. That's what we need. And a lot of people know it. You're not alone. That's what Trump make America great again. Like Trump alludes to that. I think we can even make that more explicit with a sense of restoration. We need to restore what was. So it's one thing to talk about this politically and with our nation. We're not going to do that. That's not what this show is for. So the question for us is, what does this mean for our individual lives? How can we restore in our lives? How can we restore in our lives? We'll start that tomorrow.
