We don't need more progress in our country, we need a restoration. There are 4 aspects of restoration. Today we talk about REPLACEMENT.
Good morning, welcome to the Morning Motivation brought to you by Patriot Gold Group and the Public Square app. The inspiration for this week's theme is the Boy Scouts and the demise of the Boy Scouts. And what a shame, admitting gay scout leaders and girls. Just ridiculous. And we're talking about the president, the former president of the Boy Scouts saying we need to change and if we don't change we're going to become irrelevant and my argument is no it is the changes you have made that have made you irrelevant what we need is not change we need restoration. Let me just give an example of how things have changed for the worse and the Boy Scouts is a great example. The very first Jamboree, I shouldn't say the very first, the first Jamboree was in 1937 but the Jamboree is 1950s with themes, right? One of the themes, strengthen liberty. 1953, forward on liberty's team. It's nice, sounds like fun. 1957, onward for God and my country. Beautiful. 1964's theme, strengthen America's heritage. Fantastic. You know what the themes are now? We've gone from onward for God and my country and strengthen America's heritage to go big get wild

Okay, which is a good example of how we don't need change
Progress isn't always good We need a restoration and if the Boy Scouts or any other similar group that is now coming up to fill that void Wants to take these old themes. I think they would be well served. So we're talking this week about restoration. That's the last time I'm going to mention the Boy Scouts for the week, just so you know the genesis of my thinking here. So we're talking about restoration. What does restoration mean? There's a couple of different attributes, a couple of different aspects of restoration. One of them is to replace. 26, and I will give you a new heart and a new spirit I will put within you and I will remove The heart of stone from your flesh and give you heart of flesh So what is this heart of stone that we are having? Removed from us and then replaced with a heart of flesh that has a new will a new purpose new affections. What is the heart of stone? That's no good. Spurgeon has a great sermon on this. He said a stone is cold. One of the cruel things for prisoners is when they have to sleep on a cold stone floor. He said you may heat a stone for a little season if you thrust it into the fire, but for how short a time will it retain its heat? And though it glowed just now, how very soon it loses all of its warmth and returns again to its native coldness. Such is the heart of man. It is warm enough towards sin. It grows hot as coals of juniper, towards its own lusts. But naturally the heart is as cold as ice, towards the things of God." So good. And also a heart, a stone, maybe you get riled up with some spiritual event or some song or something, but you will quickly return to your heart's natural state of coldness. He said, We have heard of one who, seeing a large congregation all weeping under a sermon, said, What a wonderful thing to see so many weeping under the truth. And another added, But there's a greater wonder than that, to see how they leave off weeping as soon as the sermon is over concerning those things which ought to make them weep always and constantly. To the point here is that no one can change their heart. Only God can. Only God can replace your heart of stone with a heart of flesh. Tomorrow we'll talk about another aspect of restoration. Not only replacing, but renewal. That's tomorrow. MikeSlater.Locals.com with a transcript, no advertisements, and the night before.
