We don't need more progress in our country, we need a restoration. There are 4 aspects of restoration. Today we talk about RENEWAL.
Good morning. Well, that was a little hot. Sorry, that came in. If you listen to this early in the morning as your morning wake up, that was a little too loud. Good morning. Welcome to the Morning Motivation brought to you by the Public Square App and Patriot Gold Group. We are talking this week about the need in America not for progress. Everyone's all about the progress, the hope and change. We need a restoration. But what does that mean, restoration? And it's funny, that's such an interesting dividing line between progressives and conservatives right there. What is your gut reaction to progress? To me, I think, I don't want that bad. And a conservative would say, what do you think about restoration? Oh, yes, it appeals to me. And it's vice versa. You tell a progressive, what do you think about restoration? Oh, Jim Crow. Versus what do you think about progress? Oh, yes, to utopia. Very interesting.

Yesterday, we're talking about what are the aspects of restoration. Yesterday, we talked about replacement. We need to take in our country what is rotten, what is broken, what is dead, and replace it with something that is alive. Replace our hearts of stone with a heart of flesh. We also need today's theme, renewal. Romans 12.2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then, and this is the best part, that's a good life hack, that first one. Be careful about what you put in your mind. Okay, great, but here's the thing, here's what happens then. Then it's not just you'll be more efficient with your day, you'll be more effective at work, you'll make six-figure income. No, then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is, His good, pleasing, and perfect will. What are you putting in your soul? Always worth an audit of that. It is amazing, little sidebar here, it is amazing to me what, it's amazing to me that our bodies can function at all with the food that we put in it. The amount of garbage that we put into our bodies, things that literally are not food, you'd think our bodies would not work at all. Like immediately my car engine got destroyed and it's gone. It's done. The whole car is toast. And the diagnosis was that some water got into the gasoline and just destroyed the entire engine and everything in it. A little bit of water. But you think our bodies would be just like that. You'd think that if we ate anything other than broccoli and chicken. We just die. Like as soon as we put a drop of partially hydrogenated soybean oil into our body you think our heart would just be like, oh that's it, done. I can't work with this. And that's it. But we don't need all sorts of junk and you can live for a long long time. Eventually you'll get diabetes, but it can take a long time. Our souls are the same way. We could put terrible, terrible things into our souls for decades and still live. I guess you could still be alive. You can. God lets you do that. But you always feel better after you eat healthy food. And you always feel better after you take in soul nourishing things. I'll admit I got into a bad habit of watching shows at night before bed. Never felt right, but you can excuse it away. Oh, it helps me fall asleep. I deserve it after a hard day's work, whatever. It's just like anything. But then a lot of things happened. We moved, so we went to a hotel for a week and we were in the same room with our kids. Then we got to the new house and we didn't have internet for a while. Right? Then when we got the internet, we were just so exhausted. We just fell right asleep. And we really just broke the habit of needing, meeting, to watch anything at night in order to fall asleep. Now I've been reading Spurgeon's daily morning and night devotional and that's it. One page, I'm asleep, that's it. It's the expression, you never regret working out.

I think it's the same thing here. You'll never regret putting things in your body that renew your soul. So the question is, how can each of us break our patterns, the patterns, the habits of our life that conform to the world so that, so that, like why is this good? Why should we do this? So that we are, we'll be better able to know God's pleasing and perfect will. Only then, that's how the scripture says, only then. It says, do not conform to the patterns of the world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to. Nothing before, nothing prior, nothing without. Then you'll be able to know what God's will is. Don't you want to know? Another word for approve. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is. The Greek word there is to discern or examine. Another way of saying you will be able to know. So if you feel lost, if you feel like the Holy Spirit is not leading you like you would like, what are you feeding your soul? Probably a lot of junk food and it's clouding your mind. Don't you want to know God's pleasing and perfect will for your life and for every day of your life? I do. If we want a restoration of our country and one of our lives, we need to renew our minds with God's Word. So let's all of us get into God's Word more and watch truth, goodness, and beauty be restored. MikeSlater.Locals.com. All the transcripts, no commercials. Night before. MikeSlater.Locals.com.
