It's easy after a debate to fall into a very common trap. We need to be aware of it before we fall in to it, too.
Good morning. Welcome to the Morning Motivation, brought to you by Public Square App and the Patriot Gold Group. Let not one of them escape. It's got to be my favorite story in the Bible, the story of Elijah calling down on all the posers to have their fake God rain fire down on the altar, and they go nuts trying to call for their God and Elijah I just see Elijah over there like leaning on a rock be like oh hey your God's probably it's probably sleeping or maybe he's just busy with something you should yell louder then he'll hear you just got it just turn it up a bit and he'll hear you then so they get louder they're all freaking out going crazy. And then they give up. And then he prays to God and God bursts down these flames and laps up the water around the altar.

It's awesome. But then, it's not the end of the story. Elijah calls on all the Israelites who were there to capture the priests of Baal and said to them, 1 Kings 18.40, let not one of them escape. And he killed them all. He let not one of them escape. And this is what we need to do to our political enemies. We need to not let one of them escape. We need to not let one of them get away any further with what they're... No!

This is what you have to do to your sin. It's amazing. In political world, especially in light of the debate last night, it's all about the other guy. Oh, it's all about that guy is the real problem. And that has its place in the political world. But in life, it's all about attacking your sin. But not that one, right? Not that one. All the other ones, but not that one. Not that, not that. See, God's talking about the other sins. You know, the big ones. The ones that you're not prone to anyway, because you're a good person.

So let's just like murder. I'm not going to murder. I'll put that one to death. And I'll put all the other ones. I'll put all the sins to death. But just not that one. I really, really like that one. We are to let not one of them escape. That thing was an idol in your heart. Still might be, but it can't be anymore. It has to be killed entirely. Immediately. There's the expression, you know, it's never too late. Well, it can be too late. It's not too late right now. You're still alive. But it can be too late. It's never too late. It can be. If you keep waiting, it can indeed be too late.

So condemn and kill that sin inside of you. Let not one of them escape. But don't worry, we got plenty of work to do on other people, of course. It's always the other person who's the problem, of course. But before we get to them, let's get to me. Mike Slater dot locals dot com. Transcript commercial free, night before.
