If you want to "heal the division" in our country, you have to know the real cause of the division. These are not just policy differences. It's much deeper than that.
Good morning. Welcome to Morning Motivation brought to you by Patriot Gold Group and the Public Square app. What time do you listen? I'm trying to meet the mood. If you listen to my show, my SiriusXM show, it starts at 5am. So 5am, I'm kind of down here by 8am. a little more excited. This week, particularly yesterday, we talked about the true division between people. It's not right and left. It's not up and down. There's all these different divisions that people come up with. It's deeper than that. By the way, speaking of division, someone brought this up on the Breitbart show. This is after Trump was mug shot or whatever they call it, arraigned. He, after he won in 2016, he was asked if he's going to pursue criminal investigations against Hillary. And he said, nah. He said they've been through enough.

And he said that would be very, very divisive for the country. That's what he said. Said I'm not going to do it. Be divisive for the country. How about that? What a tyrant.

So what's the true division in our country? It's those who fear God and those who don't. It's those with dead hearts and those with hearts of flesh. And it's those who live in the old self versus those who live in the new self. Ephesians 4, 22, to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God and true righteousness and holiness. Put off the old self, put on the new self. Here's who you were, there's who you were, and here's who you are right now. Check out this line from Romans 6, 17. But thanks be to God that you who were once slaves of sin, alright, it's pretty wild, you were slaves to sin, having been set free from sin, have now become slaves of righteousness. That's how dramatic this is. Old self, new self. Dead heart, alive heart. Slave to sin, now you're a slave to righteousness. And what's the benefit of this, other than that just being awesome? For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. But what fruit were you getting at that time from the things of which you are now ashamed? I love that the Bible's so relevant, it's unbelievable. It's like, what good was your life of sin? You did it. You were slaves to sin. How'd it go? How did it, what'd you get out of it? Go well for you? For the end of those things is death. But now that you've been set free from sin, and have become slaves of God, The fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life. So, sanctification, you become more and more like God over time and in the end, eternal life. So, you go from a slave of sin, which leads to death, but now you're a slave to righteousness, which leads to not just life, but eternal life. That's the benefit to you. It's better for you now on this earth, in this life, and it's better for you for all of eternity. That's the true division in our country, if you really want to get down to it. Old self, new self, dead heart, heart of flesh, fear God, don't fear God, slave to sin, slave to righteousness. Mike Slater dot locals dot com. Commercial free, night before, transcript.
