We've been talking this week about the true division in our country. Matthew 11:29 highlights another one of these divisions.
Good morning. Welcome to The Morning Motivation brought to you by the Public Square App, Patriot Gold Group. Thanks for being here. This week we're talking about the true division that exists in America. It's not Republican and Democrat. It's too easy. It's old self versus new self, dead heart versus heart of flesh, those who are a slave to righteousness, those who fear God, and those who don't. I came across this from 1st John 5 20 and we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true. He is the true God and eternal life. He gave us understanding. Why? So that we may know Him. Keep that in mind. We'll go back to Ephesians 4 20. They have become callous and have given themselves up to sensuality, greedy to practice every kind of impurity. But that is not the way you learned Christ. Again, to go back to 1 John, the Son of God has given us understanding. Understanding of what? Him. Learned Christ. What an interesting word. Manthano is the Greek. It means to come to know. The noun form of it is student. It's the New Testament word for disciple. And it's all throughout the Bible, but it's kind of, I don't know, I don't want to say it's hidden. It's not hidden. It's written right there, but I always miss it. So Matthew 11, 29, it says here, Take my yoke. We know this, right? We've heard this before. Take my yoke upon you, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Very nice. I skipped a part, though. I know that part. I've read the scripture a hundred times. That's the part that I hear.
Take my yoke upon you for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. That's not what it says. It says take my yoke upon you and learn from me for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. And learn from me. Become a student, a learner, a disciple. Come to know me. Why do you do that? How do you learn about God? How do you come to know Jesus? You have to hear it. I made this point about politics the other day on the radio. People can't be expected to just through osmosis form political principles. It doesn't work that way. And the only way to help people is to make your stance known. Make it known, not offensively, not rudely. That doesn't do anyone any good. But make it known. And same thing here, more importantly here, make it known. Make the truth known. We've debunked the line before. Preach the gospel, and if necessary, use words. No, no. Use words. Use words all the time. Use your words. Jesus didn't mime around town. Use words. Romans 10, 17. Faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ. Hear, hear, you have to hear. And in order for people to hear, words need to be said. I just needed this message, I needed this reminder. Slater, you've got to spend more of your time to learn Christ. I want more understanding. And that's what the world needs. That's the division. Those who know, those who don't. Those who have the understanding, and those who don't the people running the show they just have no understanding we need that understanding we need month to know by learning Christ Mike Slater locals.com transcript commercial free night before Mike Slater Mike Slater locals.com transcript commercial free night before Mike Slater locals.com
