Many Christians even think of there being two distinct gods: an Old Testament God and a New Testament God. There's just one. Same God. But if you think there are two, you're more likely to fall into the progressive worldview.
Good morning. Welcome to the Morning Motivation brought to you by Patriot Gold Group and the Public Square app. Let me just read this tweet before we get started with the day. This is in relation to Russell Brand, who we've talked a bit about on the Breitbart show on SiriusXM Patriot. He said, your ancestors, this is Cernovich, your ancestors set up rules around sex and drugs because they saw what happens when you don't. Was all that fornicating worth it to Russell Brand? I doubt it. Drugs and sex feel great until your own life gets upended from one bad night. Learn from others.

Live clean. Good, secular, wise advice. So this week we've been talking about the difference between people who think you are born good and born sinful and how that manifests itself into different policies from there. Whether it's crime, raising children, it's everything. And even among Christians, I don't know the exact number of this, but I would say a majority of self-described Christians think that we are born good. And I think a lot of this comes from the idea that the Old Testament God is this mean God. But the New Testament God is nice and happy and is Jesus and he's a lamb. So old, mean, new, yay, happy, good. And people don't read Revelation which is also in the New Testament. They only think of baby Jesus baby Jesus as a lamb and not Jesus as the Lion of Judah but you can see if you think that that the Old Testament God is old then that's something we can progress past we don't need all that old God stuff, the fire and brimstone, mean God. We just need to focus on the love of the New Testament. Very problematic. Same God. It's not like he had a change of heart. Same God, old, new, same, cross the board. Martin Lloyd-Jones, we've been quoting a lot this week, he said, God is a holy God, a just God, a righteous God. Old and New Testament, same God, who has made it plain that He will punish sin and transgression, and who has done so in history many times. He punished His own children of Israel for their transgressions. He sent them into captivity. He raised up the Assyrians and the Chaldeans as His instruments of chastisement of them. Romans 1 talks all about God punishing sin by abandoning the world to its own evil, and that's what we're living in right now. I believe God is punishing us by abandoning us to ourselves because we've refused to submit to him and his law, his holy and righteous law, even the New Testament God, which is not a thing. But the worst part of this, I think satanic, really, I think it's a lie from the devil. It's gotta be, because it's a great lie. Like, if you're the devil, this is a perfect lie. The best lie. The worst part about it is if you were born good, then you don't need to be born again.

You're already good. You don't need redemption or regeneration. You're good enough on your own. If you ever want someone to understand the good news, you have to make sure they understand the bad news first. There's no way that we can expect non-Christians to understand this. They wouldn't. And when you're out there in the world and you see people with different political policies, you're now able to see the root of it and trace it back to its core. They won't understand it. But we can't expect non-Christians to understand it. But a Christian should, and dare I say, must, understand the difference and the truth. Mike Slater dot locals dot com.
