We all have a morning routine, but is your routine intentional? David gave us some ideas about what a proper morning routine and posture looks like to set your day right.
Good morning. Welcome to the Morning Motivation, brought to you by the Patriot Gold Group and the Public Square app. Thank you for making this a part of your morning routine. If you don't have a morning routine yet, might I recommend you making one? Well, you already have one. Everyone has one. Everyone has a morning routine. We all fall into habits by default. Wake up first thing, what's the first thing you do? Check your phone, of course. That's a habit. It's unintentional. So let's be intentional about our morning routines. And I really need to hear this because my new radio show on Sirius XM, starts at 5 a.m. so morning routine has been difficult because morning routine is very sleepy and morning routine is very efficient because it's not a lot of time so I need to do a lot better. I wake up and I gotta get to work. I gotta get ready to work. I gotta go to work. And I need to trust God that he will provide. I gotta give that morning time I have more to him and God will provide everything. Everyone thinks that God provides just money. God provides a lot of things and God will provide the show prep that I need to put on a good radio show. It's just, always comes down to trust. No, I gotta do it, I gotta do it myself. I gotta do the show prep. I have to do it as if I can do anything on my own. Oh, I gotta put the time in. Me, me, me. Got a couple points I wanna make about Psalm 5 from David. This is some insight from Alistair Begg. First one, give ear to my words, O Lord." So what do we get from that first line? Give ear to my words. That is that you can come to God directly. You can go right to God. 1 Timothy 2.5 says, there's one God and one mediator who can reconcile God and humanity, the man Jesus Christ. One God, one mediator, reconciling God and humanity. Jesus. Hebrews 4.16. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Pretty amazing, right? So you can approach the throne of grace each and every morning. Not just in the morning, but what better way to start the day? It's better than anything what could be better so we can speak to God directly we can approach with confidence and Hebrews says but also with humility check out verse 2 consider my groaning give attention to the sound of my cry my King and my God David's the king. But David says, King. This is the king speaking, calling God, King. Please hear my groaning and my prayer. King. Real king. Actual king. The king of kings. This is just a lowly, earthly king here. Just little old me, just a king, down on earth speaking to the king, the king of kings. Someone who, as it says in verse 7, is in fear of you. And we all should be. Oh, we got to do a week on that. We got to do a week on fearing God. Talking about a misunderstood idea. We got to do that. I'll make note of that next week. We'll do it. What does it mean to fear the Lord? But let's stop right here about morning routine and Psalm 5. There's a few more points, but that's enough for right now. Psalm 5, 1-2. Give ear to my words, O Lord. Consider my groaning. You can go to God directly. Give attention to the sound of my cry, my King and my God, for to you do I pray. So let's start every morning with that posture, putting yourself and God in that right order. would call that a life hack. I suppose we should call it proper Christian living. would call that a life hack. I suppose we should call it proper Christian living. Mike Slater, dot locals dot com. Commercial free, night before.
