The first few lines of Psalm 5 say that you can approach God personally, with confidence and humility. And, David says you can do it every morning.
Morning. Welcome to the Morning Motivation, brought to you by Patriot Gold Group and the Public Square app. I came across this line from the great Puritan John Bunyan. He said, you can do more than pray after you have prayed. Yes, of course, you do more after praying, but there's nothing you can do till after you pray. Going through Psalm 5, just the first few lines of Psalm 5, O Lord in the morning, David said, O Lord in the morning you hear my voice. In the morning I prepare a sacrifice for you and watch, that word watch, we're gonna talk about tomorrow. But the idea of the morning, you can approach God consistently. It sounds like David has been making the beginning of his day a priority for him and God setting the stage for the day. There's something special about the morning. David didn't have to say morning. Lamentations 322, the steadfast love of the Lord never ceases. His mercies never come to an end. They are new every morning. There's a good devotional by Paul Tripp, I think it's Paul Tripp, called New Morning Mercies. Something about the morning, A fresh, a new start over again. This is a great idea that we've introduced to the kids as well. Maybe the night didn't go so well, or we didn't respond so well during the day or something. It's like, hey guys, new morning mercy. Tomorrow we can start fresh. Because the steadfast love of the Lord never ceases. His mercies are new every morning. We can start over. There's something special, beautiful about the morning, and the Bible recognizes that. And David makes the morning a priority. And it's every morning. Psalm 145, 2 says, Every day I will bless you. I will praise your name forever and ever. Great is the Lord and worthy of much praise, whose grandeur is beyond understanding. It's every day I will do this. What a missed opportunity when we, well, don't. When we don't go to God. A day without going to God. What a waste. Remember as we said yesterday, I got a lot of feedback on yesterday's episode. God is not busy. He's not busy. He's outside of time as we know it. It's not like he's, you're like, oh hey God, you got a minute? He's like, oh one second, I gotta finish up what I'm doing. Like he's totally, fully present with you right now. Fully, fully committed, fully like, as again with the kids, sorry I got, I'm in the thick of the kids. Like every reference is a kid reference. Full body listening. God has full body listening with you. Eye contact, shoulder squared, like He's here. He's right there, ready. And this is what we've learned. They're just the first few lines of Psalm 5 that you can approach Him confidently, you can approach Him humbly, personally, fully, and now consistently consistently, every morning and all day. Tomorrow, we'll talk about the word watch. Mike Slater dot locals dot com. Night before, commercial free, transcript. Night before, commercial free, transcript. Mike Slater dot locals dot com.
