It begins.
Today, we talk about some foundation truths we must have before taking on what's next for our nation. And know this: there is only one way to save this nation.
Welcome to Politics by Faith, brought to you by the Patriot Gold Group. An absolutely historic day. I am recording this at 857 Central Time, so 957 Eastern. The assassination attempt was at 611 Eastern Time, so just a few hours after this has all happened. A few thoughts as we proceed, much more to come.
First, pray for our nation. Pray for the family of the person who got killed and reports of another person seriously injured. There was a moment when this first sort of happened and no one sure what was going on and how serious this was. Was it really a gun?
Maybe it was an airsoft gun or a BB gun or something, who knows, right? When it was all happening. But then reports started coming back of a person who died and that's when, of course, this became known that this was serious.
It's similar to 9-11, when the first plane went in and a plane went into the Empire State Building many, many decades ago, like in the 30s or something. It was no big deal, they cleaned it up. They get a lot of people at the first 9-11 and were like, oh, a plane somehow,
0:01:09
that's weird, how did that happen? And then when another one went in, it was like, oh, this is a similar kind of like, oh, wow, this is what we feared. Second I'm haunted and let us all reflect on the fact that if this bullet was one centimeter to the right from the shooters perspective that this is one centimeter to the right if
0:01:30
he aimed one centimeter to the right then it would have gone through Donald Would have killed him. The shooter, this assassin, would be assassin, was close. Think about how things would be different if that bullet was one centimeter to the right. Think about how things would be different if that assassin was successful in assassinating the former president and most likely next president of the United States, thank God, thank you God, that they were not from that
0:02:14
distance and they're looking at something like maybe 150 yards, again it's all early, but the wind affects the trajectory of a bullet like that, right? You have to aim, you don't aim straight on the target, you got to aim up and over and all that right to account for the wind wind and this maybe this is maybe this is sinful of me I don't know I get a bit of solace knowing that this assassin when he aimed up his shot and he took it before he had his brains blown out by the Secret Service, he at least had a split second of, missed.
0:02:52
I don't know, maybe I shouldn't say that. My third point is, so the second is I think it's worth reflecting that how things would be different if this bullet was just a little to the right. Wow. Third, I'm shocked that this hasn't happened already, to be honest. The rhetoric that Trump is Hitler, that he's an evil dictator the biggest threat to America in our history, etc. Etc
0:03:17
I'm shocked it hasn't happened already as dark as that sounds but You're if you're here on this podcast. Do you understand the depravity of man? Also worth noting that the January 6th committee wanted to strip Donald Trump of his Secret Service protection Amazing pray for
0:03:34
Amazing. Pray for, let's be grateful for our Secret Service, the men and women who jumped to the President's protection, the Secret Service members who took out, whoever, the law enforcement who took out the would-be assassins, all those people who risked their lives to protect our President and also their families and and Supreme Court justices and everyone in law enforcement.
0:04:04
So grateful for them.

One of the things of this podcast is there's nothing new under the sun. I'm reminded of when Teddy Roosevelt, there was an assassination attempt on him. This was back in 1912, it's October 14th, 1912. He was giving a speech in Milwaukee,
0:04:17
which is where all the Republicans will be this whole weekend. There's perhaps some poetry in that, but he was going to give a campaign speech and he was driving up in an open air car and someone came up to him with a.38 caliber revolver and took a single shot from just four feet away.
0:04:40
Went right in his chest, but he kept going to give the speech. And he gave the speech, he said, it's going to take a lot more than that to kill a bull moose. He said, I'm all right, I'm a little sore. Anybody has a right to be sore with a bullet in them. You would find that if I was in battle now I would be leading my men just the same. Just the same way I'm going to make this speech. I have a feeling
0:05:04
that Donald Trump and that you could tell this by the defiant fist in the air that he gave after he was almost killed. I have a feeling that Donald Trump would have given the rest of that speech if the Secret Service would have let him. So there's a lot of details still to be figured out here, obviously. So let's talk some big picture stuff.
0:05:27
Let's talk some foundational truths so that when all the details come piling on top of us, we can hopefully better make sense of them. We've been saying for months now, I've been saying here in particular, but on the radio too, that we need to be prepared
0:05:44
for what's coming.
0:05:45
There's been a calm before the storm, you know, months ago. And I've been saying we need to be physically, emotionally and spiritually prepared for what's to come. And this is just the very beginning of what's to come. So first things first, we need to pray for this nation. We need to pray for a revival in this nation. There's a lot of
0:06:06
directions that we can go in this country right now. It could spiral faster down because of this. Or we can return to God and turn to Jesus and become that Christian nation once again and put him first and then no longer be under the wrath of God that we're under now, an abandonment left to our own devices. Only a revival will save us. We don't need a revolution that was done 248 years ago.
0:06:33
We need political change, no doubt, and we'll get it. But really, we need a revival. We Christians need to make sure above all else that we channel our anger in a righteous way. That doesn't mean in a namsy-pamsy week, you know, do it, do it, okay, no problem, sorry that happened, I guess that's kind of our fault too, I don't mean that.
0:06:55
We take our righteous anger and channel it in a righteous way. Ephesians 4 says, be angry and do not sin. Do not let the sun go down on your anger and give no opportunity to the devil. Lots to break down there, and of course we will next week, another perhaps tough one. Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath. For it is written that it is mine to avenge, I will repay.
0:07:21
Wow, we gotta talk more about that next week. Listen, we either believe in the Bible or we don't. We believe that what it says is true or not, it has to be all true.
0:07:28
And I believe it all is.
0:07:29
When I, and then the most important thing right now, what I've, before I became a Christian, prayer seemed ridiculously silly and absurd. When I first became one, it still seemed weird, embarrassing maybe. But the older I get, I think the older most people get, you realize prayer is all you got.
0:07:57
It's all we have. John 15 says, if you abide in me and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish and it will be done for you. Now there's some ifs there. If you abide in me and if his words abide in us. So let's do those two things. Let's abide in him and let's make words abide in us. So let's do those two things. Let's abide in him and let's make sure that we continually pour scripture into our souls. Only a revival will save this nation.
