Attacking doesn't work. Talking policy alone isn't enough. We need to talk policy to tell a story of who Kamala is as a commander-in-chief. We need to tell a story. And tell it boldly.
Welcome to Politics by Faith, brought to you by the Patriot Gold Group. On today's show on SiriusXM Patriot, the theme of the show became, you can't just attack a candidate, Kamala in this case, you can't just attack her with a name because that's not enough. You need to name the policies which then tell a story about Kamala's character as a leader. Not character in their life but a character as a leader and a commander-in-chief. Are you with me on the difference? If you just say a name people are like oh that's me and they get turned off. If you just say a policy it's over people's head they don't know what it means. But if you name a policy that then connects to the character, well, now you're telling a story. We gave some practical political examples on the show today. And I referenced this video that I saw a while back, and I found it. Here, these are the two creators of South Park, and they're talking to a classroom about how to tell a story. This really simple rule that maybe you guys have all heard before, but it took us a long time to learn it. But we can take these beats, which are basically the beats of your outline, and if the words and then belong between those beats, you got something pretty boring. What should happen between every beat that you've written down is either the word therefore or but, right? So what I'm saying is that you come up with an idea and it's like, okay, this happens, right? And then this happens. No, no, no. It should be this happens and therefore this happens. But this happens, therefore
0:01:46
this happens. And that, as soon as we are able to, and literally sometimes we'll write it out to make sure we're doing it. We'll have our beats and we'll say, okay, this happened, but then this happens and that affects this and that does to that. And that's why you get a show that feels like okay this to that to this to that but this here's the complication to that And there's so many scripts we read from new writers and and things that we see I see movies Yeah, you see movies. You're just watching. It's like this happened, and then this happens, and then this happens
0:02:16
That's when you're in a movie just my watching this movie for it Just like this happened, and then this happened in this up. That's not a movie you know that's
0:02:29
a story.
0:02:30
So we need to do that with politics as well. You gotta tell a story. Here's the policy and here's what it says. Therefore here's what it says about this person in this case, Kamala Harris. We did a lot of that today on the Sirius XM show, which is on Sirius XM Patreon every day from six to nine.

There's a podcast version of it where we take two segments for free and you can watch the show on thefirsttv.com, the second two hours of the three-hour show. You can watch it on thefirsttv.com, the First TV app, 347 on DirecTV and anywhere you stream TV for free, so Pluto, Roku, Samsung TV, any of those services, the First TV is there and you can watch the second two hours of the show for free if you are so inclined. We end every segment, and I always have for the last, I don't know, 16 years I've been in radio something like that and it would spread the word every segment and
0:03:15
When I first started doing that I did not mean the word Because I said that I started saying it before I was a Christian I Just met like Like spread like, you know, I don't know. It's like a secular saying I just Share what you learned or whatever and then over time when I became a Christian, it became something much better. Oh yeah, spread the word.
0:03:44
Forget about what we just said here about politics. Spread the word, God's word. That's what really matters. This morning I read Acts 26. Great example of someone spreading the word. Now as he thus made his defense, Paul, Thestis said with a loud voice,
0:04:05
Paul, you are beside yourself. Much learning is driving you mad. I like the yes of thee better. Festus said in a loud voice, You are out of your mind, Paul. Your great learning is driving you insane. I love that.
0:04:22
You are out of your mind. And Paul said, I am not mad, most noble Festus, but speak the words of truth and reason. I remember a fellow Christian friend of mine years ago saying, you know, Christianity is pretty crazy. I was like, oh yeah, it's kind of this. Just in Acts 26, Paul says, I had a vision of Jesus and completely changed my life because of it.
0:04:55
It tells the whole story. And because of it, therefore, he's now more concerned about proclaiming Jesus than he is his own personal freedom. He told a story about Jesus rising from the dead. That's all pretty crazy. But Paul said it's truth and reason.
0:05:13
It is true and reasonable. Crazy sounding, but also true and reasonable. I love the line Paul's like, and you Agrippa, you know about this. So Festus recently came from Rome and maybe didn't know what happened with Jesus in the early church, but King Agrippa did because these things were not done in a corner. And there's an interesting translation issue here. The King James Version says,
0:05:39
Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian. But a better translation is, Agrippa said to Paul, Do you think you can persuade me to be a Christian so quickly, in such a short amount of time?
0:05:55
And I like this analysis of that difference. Because we can nitpick over that all day but don't so much focus on whether or not the king didn't or almost became a Christian because in the end it's the same thing he's not a Christian whether he didn't or almost did it doesn't matter he's still not he's going to hell what matters more than anything is Paul and you all of us spreading the word do you share your
0:06:32
testimony do you share your story do you spread God's Word Paul spread the word entirely he shared his entire testimony he shared the whole road to Damascus story Oh King along the road I saw a light from heaven brighter than the Sun shining around me and those who journeyed with me and when we all fall into the ground I heard a voice speaking to me and saying in the Hebrew language, Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?
0:06:53
It is hard for you to kick against the goads. So I said, who are you, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom you are persecuting. And he's telling that story to the king. He told that story boldly. Not almost, but entirely.
0:07:09
So I'm less concerned with the king almost believing or not believing. And I'm more inspired by Paul not almost spreading the word but fully spreading the word. And I love this. Therefore, ah, therefore, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision but declared first to those in Damascus and in Jerusalem and throughout all the region

of Judea and then to the Gentiles that they should repent, turn to God, and perform deeds in keeping with their repentance. So do the things that a saved person would do. And part of that is to spread the word. Mike Slater dot locals dot com. I'm going right now, I don't know if you heard
