The anxiety is reaching a peak, but...it's still not at the climax. We will, in the days to come, be bombarded with deceit and lies like never before. We must take this as a call to return to God's word more than ever.
Hello. Welcome to Politics by Faith, brought to you by the Patriot Gold Group. It is Friday before the election. It's here. It's interesting, my instinct says instead of leaning heavier towards the voting part, to lean more into the scripture part, to lean more into the eternal truths in the midst of this moment. Maybe it's because you can get the election part anywhere. Turn on the TV, every text you get, there's elections everywhere.
So let me give you this message today instead. Because you know what to do too. You know who to vote for and to get your friends to vote. You got it all. And we will cross the bridge of shenanigans when... that sounds like something out of Pilgrim's Progress. The bridge of shenanigans. Ah yes, the bridge of shenanigans leading into the land of voter fraud where we will encounter the judges of bias and the media of lamestream. We will cross the bridge of shenanigans when we get
there. There's plenty in the Bible about deceit and lying. Right now I want to speak to anxiety. First of all, some classics. Luke 12. Which of you, by being anxious, can add a single hour to his span of life? Which one of us, by being anxious, can add one vote to the final tabulations? The winner of the election is not whose supporters were most anxious in the days before.
Anxiety does nothing. Philippians 4, another classic. Just give another classic. It's always good. Be anxious for nothing unless it's a pivotal election. No.
For nothing. But in everything, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Classics.
This, I feel, is a worthy message today. Hebrews 2.18, He Himself has gone through suffering and testing. Jesus was tempted, but He never sinned. Being tempted is not a sin. Being tempted to sin is not sinful. It is the committing of the sin that is sinful. Do not yield to the temptation, but being tempted, that's not the sin. Any anxiety you feel right now, I just want it to bring you closer to Jesus. I want it to bring you closer to God and closer to the Bible. Go back to the trustworthy sayings from our episode the other day. Every single day, no matter what happens
from now until Election Day this weekend, or what happens on Election Day, or the days after, it's going to be crazy. Whatever it is though, I wanted to bring all of us closer to God and closer to the truth. There's me so much chaos so much unknown so many lies We need to be the opposite of that. We have to go back to the truth. God is in charge Jesus understands we are helpless compared to them. So just turn to them always
Do what you can within the election of course and force. And when doing so, and right after, and forevermore, turn right to Jesus. In my experience, it's the only way for the anxiety to wash away. You want something to celebrate? Psalm 84, the Lord will give grace and glory. If you find yourself getting off the path of righteousness, if anxiety is taking you out, it's not where
God wants you to be. God does not want you to be anxious. So if you find yourself getting off the path of righteousness, just go back to the truth of God's Word. It's gonna be a wild next week. I'm super grateful we can do it together. One of the most important parts of my day is just taking time for myself to sit here in front of the Bible and read a little bit and refocus in the middle of the day here on what really matters. Let's always go back to God's Word.
And these next few days and weeks are going to be wonderful opportunities to do just that. MikeSlater.Locals.com. Transcript commercial free on the website MikeSlater.Locals.com.
